A Modicum of Mumbai

We've spent a few days in Mumbai, after an exhausting three weeks in Agonda on the beach, and on our way north.  We were really lucky that our stop here coincided with a short stop by our good buddies from Vancouver, Cassandra and Doug.  We got to have a couple of meals & drinks with them, and now we're heading off again in different directions.
Anyway, here are a few pics from around the Collaba area in Mumbai, where we usually stay.

Fruit and veggies at another stall.

Could work as an exercycle....but no, a sharpening business on
the side of the road.

A Hit of Hampi

Dave here...
Well, didn't expect that!  A few weeks back when we were in Hampi I ended up sick as a dog for the whole stop (3 days).  Bummer indeed!
Anyway, I did get out for a short wander through Hampi Bazaar (I have been a number of times before), from the temple to the bull.....so here ya go.
These few pics show a narrow window on the place.

Agonda Sunsets

Although I've shot and posted lots of sunsets over the years from Agonda, here are a few more from the first days back this year with the BC crowd.

Vegetables! Etc!

22 Dec
Pics & blurb by Dave

Not just vegetables, but fruit as well!

Ok...I know this isn't a blog full of Buddhas, or temples, or people in colourful clothes or exotic locations.  This is everyday.  What you eat and the hard working people who get this to you and who you should appreciate for their hard labour.

Stores here have lots of veggies and fruit available.  Some you recognize, some you don't.
We were lucky enough to discover a distribution centre in the next town, Dambulla, and spend a little time maneuvering around in the place to pick up some pics of the incredible work that gets done to move those veg!
First, I've got some pics of veg & fruit in a variety of little side of the road stores.  After, I have a number of pics of the distribution centre.  There are quite a few pics here, but I found the place fascinating!
As usual, click on the pic to embiggen.

Now....for for the middle handling of veg from producer to store....

There are two of these huge warehouses next to each other.
